The 6850 UV/visible spectrophotometer is Jenway’s first double-beam instrument with a variable spectral bandwidth – of 5nm down to 0.5nm.
Distributor Bibby Scientific says the instrument has highly stable optics and is suitable for use in laboratories where compliance to multiple regulatory agencies is required.
The double beam optics and two detectors measure the sample and reference simultaneously for optimum measurement accuracy and stability over long periods of time. The 6850 has a variable spectral bandwidth of 0.5nm, 1nm, 2nm, 4nm and 5nm, giving flexibility while ensuring compliance to European Pharmacopeia requirements. The narrow spectral bandwidth also ensures improved peak resolution, the firm says.
An integrated user interface provides full control of the instrument, which means a PC is not required to run it. However, Jenway’s Prism PC control software is included as standard, introducing more data storage, additional post-measurement tools and pre-loaded DNA and protein methods.
Designed for quality control, research and routine applications in life science, materials science and the pharmaceutical industry, the Jenway 6850 spectrophotometer offers multiple measurement modes for photometrics, concentration, multi-wavelength, spectrum scanning, kinetics, quantitation, DNA/RNA and protein analysis. A number of accessories are also available.
