The integration of this advanced reaction system will help accelerate the production of next-generation quantum dot materials with the potential to transform markets worldwide

A cutting-edge high-temperature reaction system has been successfully installed to support the development of advanced quantum dot materials — paving the way for breakthroughs in infrared imaging, sensing technologies, and beyond.

Quantum dots are at the forefront of innovation, with applications that promise to transform both the electronics and healthcare sectors. From enhanced imaging capabilities to new sensing solutions, their potential impact is life-changing.

The newly installed 2-litre system, designed for operation above 300°C, is equipped with:

  • PEEK components for durability under demanding conditions
  • A custom stainless steel DN150 lid
  • A magnetically coupled stirrer head ensuring reliable mixing
  • Metal-lined hoses for enhanced safety and performance.

Temperature is precisely regulated by a Huber Unistat TR401w HT system, which utilises DW-Therm HT heat transfer fluid to deliver stable control up to 340°C.

This installation represents a significant step forward in enabling high-quality, reproducible synthesis of advanced quantum dot materials, supporting both academic research and industrial applications.
