UK-based drum heating specialist LMK Thermosafe launched a hazardous area certified IBC/tote flexible heating jacket.

The ATEX zone 2 rated Inteliheat jacket uses patented heating technology. Its multilayer design incorporates carbon-doped semiconducting heating membranes to maintain safe operating conditions even in the presence of explosive gases.

The unit operates from a 240v power supply, eliminating the need for transformers, and can achieve temperatures of up to 70ºC.

LMK has also launched the Faratherm induction base heater. The ATEX and IECEx certified unit is designed to be used safely most drums either independently or in combination with an induction heater or insulating jacket.

Another recent addition to the company's range is the Thermosafe Top Hat, a rigid structure that fits on top of the Thermosafe drum heaters and Faratherm induction base heaters to minimise heat loss, increase the efficiency of the heater and reduce significantly the time required to heat the container.

The company has also updated its certified lifting frame in line with ATEX regulations requiring mechanical equipment to be certified for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. The mobile unit allows a single person to lift or lower the induction heater from the drum using a braked hand winch.
