Lonza nominates Pearl Huang to board

Lonza has nominated Pearl Huang as an independent member of its Board of Directors, bringing extensive pharmaceutical and biotechnology experience and expertise in drug discovery and innovation

Subject to her election at Lonza's Annual General Meeting (AGM) in May 2027, Huang will also join the company's Strategy and Innovation Committee and Remuneration Committee.

Huang currently serves as an independent director of Waters Corporation and BB Biotech, and is a member of the Biotech CEO Sisterhood. She previously held senior leadership positions at Roche, GSK and Merck, and was a founder and Chief Scientific Officer of BeiGene, now BeOne Medicines.

She holds a PhD in molecular biology from Princeton University and a BSc in biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

The appointment forms part of Lonza's ongoing Board renewal. Angelica Kohlmann and Christoph Mäder will not stand for re-election at the 2027 AGM following their long-standing tenures on the Board.

Mäder, a former Syngenta executive and Lonza's current Lead Independent Director, chairs the Remuneration Committee, while Kohlmann chairs the Strategy and Innovation Committee.

Lonza said that, with eight new members joining since 2024, the Board has strengthened its industry expertise, strategic capabilities and international experience.

Jean-Marc Huët, Chairman of the Board, said Huang's experience would bring valuable scientific and business expertise to Lonza as it continues to pursue its growth strategy.
