M-Scan has expanded its biopharmaceutical contract analysis facilities in Europe with the opening of its first German laboratory in Freiburg.

The lab will augment M-Scan's existing capabilities and services, complementing its offices in Bonn and Munich, and its facilities in Switzerland and the UK. The company will also be investing in the expansion of its Swiss lab and in the installation of additional advanced mass spectrometry technology.

The four laboratories in the group (UK, US, Switzerland and Germany) are equipped with a range of more than 20 high performance organic mass spectrometers. To complement these capabilities gas phase sequencing, HPLC, HPAEC-PAD, CD, AUC, NMR, TOC and amino acid analysis are also offered. Proteomics research, including 2D-electrophoresis and nanospray mass spectrometry sequencing on a Q-TOF instrument, is a speciality.
