A top-driven, lab-scale, high-shear mixer-granulator has been launched by Collette, of Belgium, a member of Niro Pharma Systems. The MicroGral is designed specifically for the development of formulations for granulating and pelletisation and is said to be ideal for use in commercial laboratories and educational establishments wherever formulation assurance and process consistency are essential.
The equipment is available in two bowl sizes - 1000ml and 4000ml - to provide a batch capacity of 100g-700g. A double jacket and heating system option enables melt granulation and pelletisation if required.
To ensure good process control the MicroGral is equipped with product temperature and torque measurement; data logging and batch reporting are also available within the system.
