Monitoring device could boost compliance
A medication monitoring device that fits standard prescription vials has been launched in the US by Med Time Technology, of Florida. The Pill Timer is said to be a low-cost, easy-to-use way of making sure patients take the right drug at the right time. It consists of a one-button setting mechanism that sets off a loud, beeping alarm at any interval between one and 24 hours. It has a large, easy-to-read visual display and resets automatically when the cap is replaced on the vial after the medication has been taken.
