Neurodegenerative disease work to be co-ordinated

Joint Programme will co-ordinate national efforts


A Joint Programme on Neurodegenerative Diseases (JPND) is being established within the EU to co-ordinate Europe’s research on fighting these conditions.

The European Commission will manage the programme – it notes that 85% of EU public research funds on neurodegenerative disease is funnelled to national programmes and ‘there is hardly any co-ordination between them’.
