Almac Clinical Services has signed a new distributorship agreement with a major commercial pharmaceutical distributor covering the South-East Asia region.

The hub facility in Singapore covers distribution across South-East Asia, including Malaysia, Taiwan, the Philippines, Korea and Thailand. Further agreements are now also operational in China and India, two key emerging markets within the clinical trials industry.

'This move forms part of our overall strategy to provide a range of clinical trial services globally to our clients,' said Robert Dunlop, president and managing director of Almac Clinical Services. 'The opening of emerging markets in the clinical trial industry requires companies with a global presence to ensure effective reach for shipping of patient supplies worldwide.'

The additions build on an existing depot network located across the world including Russia, Ukraine, Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, Peru, Chile, Israel, France and Australia. Logistics manager Andrew Scott added: 'We are delighted to add these territories to our global depot network. We have effectively responded to the market need to offer GMP compliant distribution services within these key clinical trial countries.'
