Bio-Rad Laboratories, a US-based multinational manufacturer of life science research and clinical diagnostic products, has launched Biogazelle's qbasePLUS, qPCR data analysis software for its CFX96 and CFX384 real-time PCR detection systems. The products are said to improve accuracy and speed up data analysis.

Biogazelle was founded in 2007 as a privately held Ghent University spin-off company specialising in real-time PCR experiment design and data analysis.

Bio-Rad says qbasePLUS offers researchers accurate gene expression analysis of their real-time PCR data by using proven solutions for data quality control, including the elimination of erroneous data, normalisation for removing sample-specific non-biologic variation, and inter-run calibration, which can remove the technical variation between samples analysed in different runs. The software conforms to the qPCR best practices standard: Minimum Information for Publication of Quantitative Real-Time PCR Experiments (MIQE), which defines the minimum information required for the evaluation of qPCR results.

The combined solution provides researchers with the flexibility to handle small and large experiments as well as combine data from different experiments using qbasePLUS software as a repository database.
