International Chemical Investors Group (ICIG) has completed its acquisition of Sandoz Industrial Products, a Frankfurt-Höchst-based manufacturer of enzyme-based fermentation products and intermediates for the pharmaceutical industry, from Novartis Group.

Sandoz Industrial Products will be renamed Corden BioChem and will be associated with the Corden Pharma Group, the pharmaceutical platform of ICIG.

Corden BioChem will be complementary to both ICIG's pharma activities as well as its fine chemicals activities within the WeylChem Group. The site represents an important additional building block of fermentation-based production technology for ICIG.

ICIG is focused on the continuation and further development of Cordon BioChem with the enzymatic 7-ACA business for antibiotics at the Höchst site, serving customers worldwide as well as the Corden Pharma Latina site in Italy.
