Swiss supplier of analytical lab equipment Buchi Labortechnik now offers a complete range of Kjeldahl (nitrogen analysis) systems, ranging from manual through to the fully automatic.

Designed to carry out tasks such as sample preparation, digestion, distillation and titration, the models K-350, K-355 and K-370 featured in the range provide accurate and highly reproducible results with an excellent recovery rate.

The K-350 is an easy-to-use Kjeldahl distillation unit for 'classical nitrogen and protein determination in accordance with official methods'. The K-355, on the other hand, can be used for an extended range of distillation methods, including applications that require reduced steam output or the dosage of strong acids. It features an acid-resistant pump, enabling automatic addition. Tasks that the K-355 can perform include alcohol or phenol distillation and the determination of sulphur dioxide or volatile acids.

The K-370 is a fully automated distillation unit that 'meets the most demanding requirements'. In combination with the Kjeldahl Sampler K-371, nitrogen and protein determination is completely automated, including the transfer of digested samples from the autosampler K-371 to the distillation unit K-370, the distillation process itself and the integrated titration. Its multi-tasking software even allows the operator to simultaneously carry out measurements and prepare new measuring and process output data.
