Polymeric microsphere drugs are experiencing an increase in demand, thanks to their unique characteristics and range of applications
Visit PSL APAC at ISPE Singapore (booth 105) and learn more about filtration, drying and high containment technologies. Plus, meet the team: Jun-Kai Ooi and Pierre Landais.
Powder Systems Limited (PSL) Asia-Pacific manager, Pierre Landais, will present on Thursday 25 August, during the Aseptic Process & Technology plenary session, on the hot topic of Sterile Manufacturing of Polymeric Microsphere Drug Delivery Devices.
The International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) has been in Singapore for 16 years and last year's conference attracted more than 550 participants to the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre, coming from 12 countries, which was a new record in attendance.
Expectations are high for this year's event, with new tracks including Aseptic Process and Technology, Regulatory Compliance and the Plant of the Future.
Being part of the Aseptic Process and Technology during day one of the conference is a great opportunity to discuss with pharma and bio manufacturing professionals the current conundrum of microsphere formulation manufacturing.
Polymeric microsphere drugs are experiencing an increase in demand, thanks to their unique characteristics and wide range of applications with many unmet needs to date. Microspheres used as drug delivery devices are revolutionary because they provide exceptional advantages from controlled and sustained release capabilities to medicine protection and longer shelf life for vaccines, cancer treatment, diabetes or hormonal disorder medication.
Pierre will review the existing manufacturing processes from laboratory to commercial production of these delivery devices and how the industry has innovated to develop and bring onto the market new medicine formulation. He will discuss new technologies available to overcome current challenges encountered by pharma manufacturers when formulating microsphere drugs illustrated by case studies.
Other key subjects will be discussed during the ISPE Conference, such as High Potent Facility Design by John Duggan (PM Group) or using state-of-the-art 3D tools with Dave Wolton and Continuous Manufacturing by Dr Thomas O’Connor from the FDA.
To celebrate PSL’s recent achievement of winning two Queens’s Awards for Enterprise for our innovation and international trade, we will be giving away a free afternoon tea for two at the fantastic Chihuly Lounge, Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore. To qualify for the competition you must go to PSL booth 105 at ISPE Singapore and place your business card in the card holder. The winning name will be announced during the show.
