SPT Labtech introduces unified portfolio for acquisitions

Under the combined portfolio, recently acquired businesses’ technologies will fall under the company's brand as dedicated product lines

SPT Labtech, a developer of automated instrumentation and consumables for life science applications, has unveiled updated branding to bring together its technologies with those from recent acquisitions into a single entity.

The unified brand builds on the company’s 2021 strategic acquisitions of Apricot Designs, a liquid handling instrumentation provider, and BioMicroLab, a specialist in benchtop automation. The development also follows recent appointments to the company's leadership team, tasked with overseeing and consolidating the business's commercial, sales and product development operations.

Under the combined portfolio, the acquired businesses’ technologies will fall under the company's brand as dedicated product lines. Customers will be able to access support services delivered by the company’s team of field service engineers and application scientists.

David Newble, CEO, SPT Labtech said: "Our goal is to deliver end-to-end solutions that streamline laboratory workflows. With that in mind, it's an important step for us to now formally integrate the apricot and BioMicroLab organisations into the SPT Labtech brand, enabling customers to benefit from a more seamless experience and interface with the entire portfolio. Our newly refreshed website, incorporating all ranges, will act as an important touchpoint for customers."

Joby Jenkins, VP Business Development, SPT Labtech added: "This move reflects how seamlessly our acquired businesses and their talented teams have integrated within the SPT Labtech family. We increasingly benefit from cross-fertilising ideas and technologies across our expanded portfolio to create novel products that solve customers' critical workflow challenges. As a result, we anticipate bringing some exciting and genuinely disruptive new products to market in the near and longer term."
