Sartorius Stedim Biotech takes majority stake in AllPure Technologies

Takeover extends portfolio for single-use bioprocessing


Sartorius Stedim Biotech (SSB), an international supplier to the pharmaceutical and biotech industries, has agreed to take a majority stake in US start-up company AllPure Technologies, based in New Oxford, Pennsylvania.

AllPure, which employs 25 people, has been operating for four years and in 2013 earned revenue of around US$3m. The company specialises in single-use components for biopharmaceutical applications, such as aseptic sampling techniques.

No financial terms have been disclosed.

Reinhard Vogt, a member of SSB’s Executive Board, said: 'AllPure further completes our portfolio with innovative products that help our customers develop and manufacture their pharmaceutical drugs safer and more efficiently.'

Sartorius Stedim Biotech offers integrated solutions covering fermentation, cell cultivation, filtration, purification, fluid management and lab technologies to the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries.
