B Braun, the German supplier of healthcare products, offers pharmaceutical manufacturers a new plastic, single-dose ampoule that increases patient safety and convenience.

The Mini-Plasco features a Luer connector and a twist-off cap with integrated finger stopper, which the company says prevents microbial and particle contamination and protects against needle-related injuries. There are also no sharp edges, which eliminates the risk of cuts and scratches

The ampoule is made from unbreakable polyethylene that is recyclable and biodegrades into water and carbon dioxide when incinerated. Being made from PE also eliminates DEHP, PVC and latex-related risks.

The Mini-Plasco collapses during withdrawal, allowing vent-free aspiration in a single step. It is available in 5, 10 and 20ml formats.
