Takeda to build new plant in Japan
For production of oral, solid dosage formulations
Japanese drugmaker Takeda Pharmaceutical Company is to build a new JPY14bn (US$163m; €125m; £104m) manufacturing facility at its plant in Hikari City, Yamaguchi Prefecture in Japan.
Construction of the 13,000m2 facility will begin on 5 October, with completion expected by April 2012.
The company says the new flagship plant will operate 24/7 and conduct high-volume manufacturing of a wide range of oral, solid dosage formulations to treat diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.
