Thermo Fisher completes purchase of Lomb Scientific

Scientific instrument maker Thermo Fisher Scientific has completed its previously announced purchase of Lomb Scientific, which makes laboratory chemicals, consumables and instruments.

Lomb Scientific, which has offices in Australia and New Zealand, employs around 100 people in Sydney, Perth and Auckland. The company had revenues of approximately AUD$34m in 2009. The firm will be integrated into Thermo Fisher’s analytical technologies and laboratory products and services business units.

Financial terms of the deal were not revealed.
