Supports a streamlined path from filling lab to clinic for early stage study drugs
Vetter, an aseptic pre-filled drug-delivery systems specialist headquartered in Ravensburg, Germany, and Sentry BioPharma Services of Indianapolis, US, a provider of supply chain management and clinical packaging services, have agreed a partnership in which Vetter will fill early-stage, high-value biopharmaceuticals at its Chicago facility and Sentry will label, package and ship the clinical supplies from its site in Indianapolis, Indiana. The partners say the collaboration will help streamline the path of study drugs from filling lab to clinic while safeguarding product integrity.
The Chicago facility, which focuses on preclinical to phase II projects, is Vetter’s first outside Germany and an expansion of Vetter Development Service. It will be operational at the beginning of Q4 2010.
Peter Soelkner, managing director of Vetter said the partnership with Sentry confirms a mutual commitment to helping clients get high-quality products to market quickly and efficiently. It also confirms Vetter’s commitment to the North American market.
‘We’re proud to partner with Vetter,’ added Jennifer Marcum, chief executive of Sentry. ‘Both of our companies share the same dedication to the quality and safety of our clients’ products.’
The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) recently awarded Sentry a contract to store and distribute influenza vaccine for the US National Strategic Reserve.
