This unit is an important part of Almac's ability to offer its clients an efficient and high quality service.

James McCusker, manufacturing manager at Almac, says: "The SP200 is ideally suited to the low- to medium-scale batch size requirements for clinical trial materials.

"Our experience with it has shown the sorter to be highly accurate, robust in operation and totally reliable. Furthermore, the sorting speed and short set-up times, together with the ease of use and intuitive software, have enabled us to improve our lead times."

Almac weighs and sorts a range of capsules between 200mg and 800mg, and depending on the batch size being processed, the sorter is often used over a 24-hour period and left unattended to run overnight.
