Supplies airfreight and temperature-controlled container shipping
Yusen Logistics is providing a one-stop shop solution – encompassing air, sea and land transportation – to meet the international supply chain requirements of UK-based specialist pharmaceutical company, ProStrakan.
ProStrakan of Galashiels, Scotland, a member of the Kyowa Hakko Kirin Group, needed reliable, international coverage for its prescription drugs. With rapid development into new markets under way, and ambitious plans for future expansion, the company required a supply chain partner that could facilitate its growth.

The Yusen Logistics service covers airfreight and temperature-controlled container shipping as well as pan-European road transportation. Airfreight is organised between the US and the Far East and between India and the UK, while temperature-controlled container shipping is organised between Europe and the US.
The European operation involves the temperature-controlled distribution of product from ProStrakan’s manufacturing plants to delivery points throughout Europe by means of Yusen’s ‘Pharmaceutical Superhighway’, which is based on a dedicated strategic transport network utilising specialist hubs that consolidate/load share and cross-dock product for onward delivery throughout Europe and beyond.
GDP/MHRA-approved hubs in Belgium and the UK also offer storage and a range of value-added services to the healthcare sector with additional support through depots in Germany and Italy.
