Swiss giant Novartis has linked up with Immusol in a five -year gene discovery pact that could be worth up to $150m. Immusol will find and validate around 50 genes that predispose people to cancer, suppress the growth of tumours, regulate tumour-suppression factors or inhibit cell death.
