Novozymes has achieved a score of 94, placing it at number 5 in the CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) Nordic Index and outperforming other Danish companies. Novozymes is participating in the CDP for the fifth consecutive year, climbing to #5 from #10 in 2011.
The CDP Index has pioneered a global and certified system that collects information on corporate behaviour in the areas of climate change and water scarcity. The CDP acts on behalf of market forces, including shareholders and purchasing corporations, and 655 investors with assets of US$78 trillion have evaluated companies on their ability to communicate reduction of carbon emissions.
Demonstrating sustainability is a good idea

‘We tell our customers that our technology can reduce their CO2 emissions, and last year our biotechnological solutions saved 45 million tons of CO2 – about three-quarters of Denmark’s total annual CO2 emissions. We achieved this together with our customers, by applying our solutions in their products and processes.

Novozymes’ achievement is documented in a thorough report compiled by CDP. Novozymes also holds a gold rating in SAM Sustainability Yearbook, and taken together the two provide widely acclaimed third-party recognition of the professionalism with which the company approaches its sustainability goals.
