CDMO Olon has committed to constructing a new facility dedicated to the production of ultra-potent compounds in Rodano, Milan.
The company has also completed the validation of its new small scale production area within the facility, which was recently installed.
According to Olon, the large-scale production plant will also be introduced to the site and installed by January 2025.
The small and large-scale production lines will be fully integrated, and will allow Olon to produce payloads, linker payloads and ultra-potent APIs for a range of clients across Europe.
The site is currently ready to accomodate small-scale GMP production.
To ensure the efficient production of highly potent APIs, Olon has equipped the facility with a HPLC preparation system for product purification, as well as a lyophiliser and a wide range of analytical instruments.
There will also be allocated space for the storage of active compounds at the Rodano site, as well as space dedicated to quality control and R&D.
Olon Group's Head of Global Operations, Marcello Buson, commented: “Our new line at the Rodano facility is highly advanced — not only in terms of its design and technological capabilities — but also in its 'factory within a factory' arrangement."
"The site has an integrated warehouse area and quality control department, meaning we can handle highly active molecules in a straighforward and safe way, reducing the risk of contamination and ensuring the best quality products reach our clients."
