Outsourcing specialist Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies (VWS) has launched a pharmaceutical grade water package with capacity to produce 10,000 l/h.
Designed to meet customer demands, the new generation modular ORION can meet the water quality standards of USP 30 and Ph Eur purified water and Ph Eur highly purified water.
It features an enhanced reverse osmosis module, which gives improved recovery of up to 90% for single pass systems and 75% for twin pass. This means lower operating costs and a reduced carbon footprint, says VWS.
Carbosoft softeners are available for hard water areas, twin pass reverse osmosis for high salinity (>1000mg/l) and membrane degassing for high carbon dioxide (>20mg/l). Alternative post-treatment options include continuous electrodeionisation for purified water, UV disinfection, microfiltration and ultrafiltration to meet the endotoxin standard for Ph Eur highly purified water. It is compliant with FDA, cGMP and GAMP requirements
An improved control system includes not only the ORION unit but also the pre-treatment, storage and distribution systems. It automatically optimises the operation of the reverse osmosis module and with a choice of start/stop or continuous operation. The control PLC interfaces with most SCADA systems and a 21 CFR pt II compliant option is available.
Users can buy ORION outright or take advantage of VWS's "all-in-pack" rental agreement.
