Oxford Expression Technologies launches US hub
US customers will be able to purchase OET products from a North American supplier
Oxford Expression Technologies (OET), a UK provider of recombinant protein expression solutions, has opened a new US hub.
Operated by San Diego-based biotech firm Abcore, this new hub will not only allow US customers to purchase OET products from a North American supplier, but will also give them access to the complete range of OET’s recombinant protein expression expertise and services.
These include:
- proteinXPRESS, a tailormade comprehensive recombinant protein expression service (from gene synthesis to protein expression/purification), including vaccine and Virus like Particle (VLP) production
- flashBAC baculovirus expression kits, genetically optimised for producing 100% recombinant virus in a single step by eliminating the need for plaque purification
- Baculovirus expression training courses
OET’s chief executive James Bernard commented: ‘AbCore is more than just a distributor – it will become our North American hub, operating from AbCore’s facilities in the heart of Southern California’s biotech cluster. Orders will be accomplished in realtime without the hassle of shipping into the US and payment will be made in local currency.’
Steven Evans, president of AbCore, added: ‘We will offer the full range of OET products, from stock. This means that logistical issues around importing materials into North America will be completely eliminated. Additionally, all customers will receive their orders within 48 hours.’
