Analytical laboratory equipment provider Quantitech has launched a new addition to the Teledyne Leeman Labs "Hydra" family of mercury analysers.
The Hydra-C is an automated mercury analyser employing thermal decomposition and atomic absorption for the rapid (5 minutes) direct analysis of liquid or solid samples without a need for acid digestion.
Hydra-C is designed to satisfy the requirements of the US EPA method 7473 and to address the needs of analysts who simply want to determine mercury without prior sample pre-treatment.
"We are very excited about the potential of this product," said Dr Gareth Pearson. "Fea-tures include its high sensitivity from the 25cm long optical path, an extended dy-namic range and simplified sample loading as the self-registering autosampler allows unrestricted access during sample loading.
"It has automated scheduled maintenance, an ergonomic design, versatile 21CFR 11 compliant software, providing password pro-tected access control electronic signatures, audit trail and data integrity."
Additional benefits of the new Hydra-C include automatic sample weight entry (with an optional on-line balance).
