Sustainable chemical company Rhodia has completed the takeover of its minority partner’s shares in the joint venture Rhodia Thai Industries Ltd.

The transaction is one of several steps that Rhodia has taken towards expanding its surfactants business, headed by Rhodia Novacare. In February, the company acquired US-based surfactants supplier McIntyre and more recently it opened a surfactants unit in Roha, India.

“The purchase of our minority partner’s shareholding in Thailand is in line with Rhodia’s strategy to grow businesses in which we hold strong leadership positions and reinforce our global presence in the speciality surfactants market,“ commented Pascal Juery, president of Rhodia Novecare.

Rhodia Thai Industries Ltd is headquartered in Bangpoo, Thailand and provides surfactants for use in personal care, agrochemicals, coatings, oil field and industrial applications.
