Sanofi appoints two senior executives in the US

Greg Irace takes newly created role of senior vp, Global Services

Sanofi has made two senior appointments at its location in Bridgewater, New Jersey, US.

Greg Irace, currently president and ceo of Sanofi’s US operations, has moved across to the newly created role of senior vice president, Global Services.

Anne Whitaker will join Sanofi as president, North America, Pharmaceuticals, on 1 September.

In his new role, Irace will be responsible for shared support functions across all Sanofi businesses in North America and play a key role in the development of a global strategy for shared services. He will report to Jerome Contamine, chief financial officer and continue to be a member of the Global Management Committee.

‘The integration of Genzyme and Merial gives Sanofi the opportunity to create a platform of shared support functions to serve Sanofi's five North American businesses and its more than 20,000 employees,’ said Contamine.

Whitaker will report to Hanspeter Spek, president, Global Operations. She will also join the Global Management Committee and be based in Bridgewater.

Whitaker joins Sanofi from GSK, where she has been senior vice president and head of the Cardiovascular, Metabolic and Urology business unit since 2009.
