A further Euro 156.3m is being made available, of which â"šÂ¬76.3m will come from the European Commission and â"šÂ¬79.5m expected from member companies of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA).
The nine priority topics for this financing round will include biomarkers for anticancer drugs; validation tools for oncology drugs; understanding aberrant adaptive immunity mechanisms; drug/disease modelling; and others. Detailed application guidelines will be released on October 30.
The initiative now has a new executive director, Michel Goldman. EU research Commissioner Janez PotoÄÂnik said: "We should see results from this exciting new research mechanism very soon."
