The StarFish from Radleys Discovery Technologies (RDT) is a modular heating and stirring experiment work station that claims to set a new standard for flexibility.
As a multi-experiment system, it allows companies to use existing laboratory resources as it accepts most popular brands of glassware. With a choice of base plates, the StarFish can also fit on most brands of stirring hotplate.
At the simplest level, the work station can be used to simultaneously stir and heat a wide variety of vessel types, from 2ml vials to 250ml round-bottomed flasks. The product is available as a mono and polyblock.
RDT's sister company, Radleys, was displaying its Lara controlled lab reactor (CLR), a completely integrated CLR system that increases flexibility in process automation. The system accepts a range of vessel sizes and features powerful data acquisition and control software. Its footprint is small enough to fit into a regular fume cupboard.
