Steriline, the Italian pharmaceutical equipment manufacturer has presented the Robotic Nest Filling Machine for Lab (RNFM - LAB) to the global industry at CPhI Worldwide in Frankfurt. Germany.
Building on the success of the presentation in Frankfurt, the company is now ready to take part in other two exhibitions this month:
- Pharmtech 2019 in Moscow (19-22 November, Pavilion 2, Hall 8, Stand 3051), showcasing the Robotic Nest Filling Machine (RNFM2)
- CPhI & P-MEC in Delhi (26-28 November, Hall 10, Booth 10.A07), showcasing the RNFM - LAB
The RNFM - LAB is a compact robotic nest filling machine, specifically designed to be used in laboratories. It made its debut last April at Pharmintech in Bologna, Italy.
Born from a tailor-made project that Steriline developed for an American life sciences company based in Italy, the RNFM - LAB was specifically conceived for the drugs research and development early stages.

Robotic solution
"Our client's request for this kind of robotic machine came from the need to define and maximise a new manufacturing process," explained Federico Fumagalli, Chief Commercial Officer at Steriline. "Robotics was the perfect solution to get an easier format change with just some software adjustments."
The unit can be equipped with one or two dosing pumps and stoppering system. It provides a manual tub loading/unloading and it moves with a speed up to approximately 1,000 pieces/h.
The RNFM - LAB is exclusively intended for the research and development of new injectable drugs in a nest (via syringes, cartridges or vials) and it is able to perform all standard robotic filling operations.
"So far, we've developed machines for production, since the R&D is a very challenging sector and business," Fumagalli commented, adding that companies ask for support in this field just when they actually have something new to develop. "In this case, our client chose us as its perfect partner to design and project a new machine, which could meet all their needs and satisfy all their requirements".
Steriline, founded in 1989 in the Lake Como area (Italy), is a well-established European manufacturer highly specialised in the production of complete lines for the aseptic processing of injectable products, supplying pharmaceutical companies worldwide.
With operations in over 50 countries around the world, Steriline has a network of over 180 people, including direct employees and external partners in addition to 40 local sales representatives.
Export represents more than 90% of Steriline's turnover with over 1,300 machines installed throughout Asia, Europe, and the US.
