Leading Japanese drug company Takeda Pharmaceutical has established an r&d subsidiary in the US to concentrate on therapeutic antibodies.


Leading Japanese drug company Takeda Pharmaceutical has established an r&d subsidiary in the US to concentrate on therapeutic antibodies.

Takeda San Francisco (TSF), a wholly owned subsidiary of Takeda America Holdings, will recruit research staff locally and supplement them with staff from Takeda's biopharmaceuticals laboratory in Japan.

TSF is expected to begin operations in fiscal 2008, and will function as Takeda's US r&d base for a variety of antibody-drug-related projects, including searching for biological markers, producing antibody drugs, and verifying drug efficacy and safety.
