Merck Pharmaceuticals has brought out 300mg tablets of the calcium antagonist diltiazem hydrochloride under the name of Slozem.

Roche Products has introduced Xeloda tablets. Each tablet contains 150mg or 500mg of the cytostatic antimetabolite capecitabine.

Merck Sharp & Dohme has marketed Singulair Paediatric 4mg chewable tablets containing the leukotriene receptor antagonist montelukast.

Dominion Pharma has marketed 5mg and 10mg tablets of the beta-blocker bisoprolol.

Lundbeck has marketed Almogran tablets containing 12.5mg of the selective 5-HT1B1D receptor agonist almotriptan (as D,L-hydrogen maleate).

Goldshield Pharmaceuticals has made available Eltroxin, tablets containing 25µg of thyroid hormone thyroxine sodium.

Schering-Plough has made available Neoclarityn tablets. Each tablet contains 5mg of the antihistamine desloratadine.

Orion Pharma has introduced Indivina combination tablets. The product contains 1mg of the oestrogen estradiol valerate/2.5mg of the progestogen medroxyprogesterone acetate or 1mg/mg or 2mg/5mg.

Leo Pharmaceuticals has launched a 240g pack size of its vitamin D analogue Dovonex (calcipotriol) 50µg/g.

Novartis Pharmaceuticals has brought out a pharmacy-only pack size of 1% cream of the allylamine antifungal terbinafine hydrochloride.

Generics (UK) has made available 1mg, 3mg and 5mg tablets of the anticoagulant warfarin; 1mg tablets of the loop diuretic bumetanide; 125mg/5ml and 250 mg/5ml suspension of the cephalosporin cefaclor; and 5mg and 10mg tablets of the b-blocker bisoprolol.

Janssen-Cilag has marketed a 40,000 iu/ml solution for injection of Eprex containing the recombinant human erythropoietin, epoetin alfa.

Aventis Pharma has introduced disposable Insuman Optiset pens for Insuman Rapid 100iu/ml, Insuman Basal 100iu/ml; Insuman Comb 15 100iu/ml; Insuman Comb 25 100iu/ml; and Insuman Comb 50100iu/ml.

APS/Berk has introduced 7.5mg tablets of the stimulant laxative senna, and 5mg and 10mg tablets of the b-blocker bisoprolol.
