UK pharmaceutical companies honoured in Queen's Awards

Among the companies awarded the UK's highest honour for business success - a Queen's Award for Enterprise - are a drug manufacturer, a pharmaceutical marketing consultancy, a manufacturer and distributor of vitamin supplements and nutraceuticals, and a company whose superconducting magnet has opened up new possibilities for life science and drug discovery research.

Receiving awards for international trade are Cyton Biosciences, Penn Pharmaceutical Services, Pfizer and Vitabiotics; Controlled Therapeutics (Scotland), Oxford Instruments Superconductivity and Tripos Receptor Research are being given Queen's Awards for Innovation.
