Washington had argued these China-christened "famous brands" handouts were export subsidies banned by the World Trade Organisation (WTO). Claiming there were "dozens" of such subsidies, US Trade Representative Ron Kirk said he was "very pleased" with their "full elimination..."
The deal covers exports to all WTO members.
