The US Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) has appointed Kelly Willis as Senior Vice President of Global Public Health, who will work with the USP Executive Team and Board of Trustees to develop and execute a strategy for global public health and will serve as a public champion for USP initiatives in that area.
Prior to joining USP, Willis was Executive Director of Accordia Global Health Foundation, an organisation that works to create innovative health models in Africa to address the burden of infectious diseases and transform the health landscape in that region. In that organisation, she helped launch the Infectious Diseases Institute (a first of its kind HIV research and training institute in Uganda), and led the design and establishment of the West African Infectious Diseases Institute in Nigeria. Willis was recently elected to Accordia’s Board of Directors and will continue to serve the organisation in that capacity.
Willis has also held positions at Pfizer, Monsanto, USAID and Chemonics International, addressing topics such as economic policy analysis, corporate finance, supply chain management, strategic international business considerations, sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
