VWR purchases National Biochemicals
Expanding its custom biochemical manufacturing capabilities
VWR has acquired National Biochemicals (NBC), a full service raw material manufacturer and supplier to the biochemical industry, for an undisclosed sum.
The Radnor, PA, US-headquartered provider of laboratory products said the transaction would enhance its growing custom chemical and biochemical manufacturing portfolio, building on last year's acquisitions of Integra Companies and STI Components in this segment.
VWR's President and CEO Manuel Brocke-Benz said: 'We continue to make targeted, strategic investments that give VWR access to the high growth biochemical industry, allowing us to more effectively leverage our infrastructure, and to provide enhanced solutions for our customers.'
He added that NBC's manufacturing expertise, process capabilities, high quality facilities, and advanced product portfolio would strengthen VWR's position in the biotech, pharmaceutical, cell culture and diagnostics industries.
Based in Twinsburg and Aurora, Ohio, US and founded in 1992, NBC manufactures and supplies molecular biology reagents, multi-compendial chemicals, and biotechnology and diagnostic biochemicals to customers internationally.
