Agilent receives design award
Agilent Technologies' 5100 Automated Lab-on-a-Chip platform has been awarded a 2005 iF Gold Award, a prestigious international award for industrial product design.
The company - a global technology leader in communications, electronics, life sciences and chemical analysis - was one of 50 winners chosen from more than 2,200 entries in 12 categories. An international panel of judges made its selections based on criteria including design quality, usability and innovation. Ergonomic and ecological aspects of each product were also considered.
'Agilent is honoured to receive this distinction, which is highly regarded in the design world,' said Raoul Dinter, industrial design manager for Agilent's life sciences and chemical analysis business. 'The award recognises consistently high quality of industrial design that synthesises state-of-the-art usability and long-lasting aesthetics.'
The award was presented in Hanover, Germany, at CeBIT, a leading trade show for information technology, telecommunications and software manufacturers.
