Allscripts president joins Medidata Solutions board

Lee Shapiro is president of Allscripts, a supplier of electronic health records

Medidata Solutions, a US provider of SaaS-based clinical development solutions, has elected Lee Shapiro to its board of directors. Shapiro is president of Allscripts, a supplier of electronic health records.

Prior to joining Allscripts in 2000, Shapiro was chief operating officer of Douglas Elliman-Beitler, an office management and development company, where he directed all business activities throughout the US.

Shapiro also served as president of SES Properties, vice chairman of City Financial Bancorp and commercial lawyer at Barack, Ferrazzano, Kirschbaum, Perlman & Nagelberg.
