AMRI hires vp of chemical development

David Lathbury has more than 23 years of process development and optimisation experience

David Lathbury has joined AMRI as vice president of chemical development. He has taken over the leadership of AMRI’s Chemical Development business including operations in Albany, Rensselaer and Syracuse, New York.

He is also responsible for the coordination of global projects spanning all AMRI chemical development operations, including the company’s sites in Wales, UK and Hyderabad, India.

Lathbury has more than 23 years of experience in process development and optimisation, scale-up and technical transfer of products in the pharmaceutical and agrochemical industry. Most recently, he was director of process chemistry for AstraZeneca Process Research and Development (PR&D). Prior to this, he spent seven years at Smithkline Beecham Pharmaceutical’s Synthetic Chemistry division.
