BASF adds HONH2 capacity
BASF has brought on stream a capacity expansion at its hydroxylamine free base facility at Ludwigshafen, Germany. The completed project has added 1,700t p.a. capacity to the plant, bringing total production volume of the HAFB plant up to 5,700t p.a. of 50% solution of the product.
The plant is able to product both electronic and regular grades of material. The expansion and debottlenecking operation is hoped to further increase BASF's position as a supplier of the product, used in pharmaceutical synthesis. The company claims that the increased capacity will enable it to meet growing demand from customers worldwide, as the only global supplier of the product.
