The company is the first manufacturer to receive the Healthcare Industry Resilience Collaborative’s gold badge for IV solutions, nutrition solutions and premix drugs, recognising its leadership in building a transparent, reliable and disruption-ready healthcare supply chain

Baxter has announced that it has been awarded a Gold Level Resiliency Badge from the Healthcare Industry Resilience Collaborative (HIRC) in the categories of IV Solutions, Nutrition Solutions and Premix Drugs.

Baxter is the first manufacturer to earn this distinction across these categories, underscoring its commitment to building a stronger and more reliable supply chain.

“The HIRC Resiliency Badge is a testament to our team’s relentless focus on helping ensure patients and customers can count on Baxter,” said Jim Borzi, Baxter’s Executive Vice President and Chief Supply Chain Officer.

“From continuous investments in manufacturing to transformative digital tools, resiliency is built into everything we do."

"We’re honoured to receive this significant industry award that helps validate our ongoing commitment to building a stronger, more transparent supply chain and reaffirms our Mission to Save and Sustain Lives.”

Founded in 2019, the HIRC is a US non-profit healthcare supply chain trade association created by providers and their trading partners to increase resiliency and transparency.

The organisation sets standards and shares best practices, with providers, suppliers and industry partners working together to build a more reliable supply chain.

HIRC’s Resiliency Badge is the industry’s first transparent tool to identify high-reliability suppliers, awarded through evidence-based multi-layer assessments at the product category level.

Baxter’s recognition follows HIRC’s comprehensive and rigorous review of the company’s resiliency practices across demand planning, logistics, supplier partnerships and other facets of the supply chain.

Baxter was recognised for strength in the following areas:

  • Resilient global logistics and supply chain visibility
  • Stronger cybersecurity frameworks
  • Enhanced risk management and demand forecasting
  • Inventory oversight and product management
  • Operational health and driving continuous improvement.

"The HIRC Resiliency Badge is not about immunity to disruptions, but rather a supplier's level of operational and risk management maturity to better predict, prevent and recover from supply disruptions,” said Jesse Schafer, HIRC’s executive director.

“Through this achievement, in which the company is evaluated on business continuity and operational competence, Baxter demonstrates its commitment and capability in resiliency."

The Gold Level Resiliency Badge builds on Baxter’s ongoing commitment to resiliency, especially after the company received HIRC’s Transparency Badge in 2023 and 2024.

These accolades demonstrate the recipient’s ability to withstand disruptions and help support the availability of critical supplies to the clinicians and patients who rely on them.
