The British Contract Manufacturers and Packers Association (BCMPA) is holding its autumn business meeting on October 14, at Nailcote Hall, Coventry.

The event will include business sessions from:

Icas PR - creating the link between packers and publicity. A presentation by Sarah Hewitt of Icas Public Relations. The BCMPA has enlisted Icas to help broaden its media campaign by targeting the niche publications relevant to the industry sector in which our members operate. Sarah will explain how Icas can develop relationships between the Association and key publications and how BCMPA members can capitalise on those relationships with magazine editors to publicise their services.

How to exhibit at around 20% of the normal cost. A presentation by BCMPA chief executive Rodney Steel on how the BMPA plans to host stands at niche exhibitions, giving front page coverage for sponsoring members.

Sub-group sessions - an opportunity for each of the five BCMPA sub-groups (Chemical/Agrochemical; Pharmaceutical; Cosmetics/Toiletries; Food/beverage/General) to get together over lunch, to focus on topics relevant to their industry sectors. This will be followed by the sub-group co-ordinators summarising the points discussed and the action plan formulated to the other sub-groups.

No ordinary trade association. A presentation by Matthew Clark of Tolson Messenger, recognising the diversity of insurance requirements across the industry sectors. He will look at areas such as risk control, product contamination and recall, crisis management, and credit insurance solutions.

Open forum. The BCMPA team will summarise the progress of the association during 2004 and outline the vision for the future.

Although a members' only event, the Chief Executive would welcome potential new members.

The event starts at 10:30am and will aim to finish by 4.00pm. Cost is ₤45 + VAT.
