Biotrace acquires Target Diagnostica of Italy
Manufacturer of industrial microbiology products, Biotrace International, of Bridgend, UK, has purchased the remaining shares in Target Diagnostica for £300,000 in cash. The MicroSafe Group based in Italy, was acquired by Biotrace in September 2005 and held 39% of Target. MicroSafe has now acquired the remaining 61% of Target's shares.
Based in Milan, Target distributes microbiology products to the pharmaceutical, food and environmental industries. It had revenues of Euro 2m (£1.4m) in 2005 and a pre-tax profit of €200,000 (£100,000).
"Biotrace is continuing to strengthen its position in Europe as a leading manufacturer and supplier of microbiology products to the industrial market," said Ian Johnson, ceo of Biotrace.
