Catalent appoints two Quality professionals

Strong business acumen will contribute to quality excellence at the company

Catalent Pharma Solutions, the US provider of advanced dose form and packaging technologies, has appointed Lois Johnson as vice president of quality, Development and Clinical Services, and Alex Eslava as vice president of quality, Sterile Technologies.

Prior to joining Catalent, Johnson was senior director of Quality Assurance North America for Aptuit. Prior to this, she held quality leadership positions at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Aventis Behring Corporation, Centeon and Rhone-Poulenc Rorer (both formerly part of Armour Pharmaceutical), and Armour Pharmaceutical.

Eslava joins the company from Wyeth, where he was assistant vice president and quality head for the company’s biotechnology business. Before this he was assistant vice president of quality for Wyeth’s Latin America business. Prior to this, he was director of quality for Amgen in Puerto Rico.
