The purpose of today’s meeting is to discuss the company’s considerable investment into the facility and what this means for the local community, as well as to provide tours of the site for visitors.
Johnson Matthey, voted Britain’s Most Admired Chemicals Company by Management Today, acquired the Annan facility in November 2014 in order to expand the Fine Chemicals Division’s large volume capacity, in response to customers' demand for controlled substance active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and custom manufacturing services.
The Annan facility has recently been granted approval from regulators to commence API manufacturing following an extensive programme of renovation and refitment.
Johnson Matthey currently has 70 employees at the Annan site, and this number is expected to increase to 90 by the end of the financial year. This rapidly growing site provides a wide range of jobs for the local Scottish community.
Johnson Matthey is currently recruiting across a variety of manufacturing and operational positions for the site.
We look forward to building lasting relationships with the local community as our business continues to expand
“I am honoured to be meeting local representatives as we visit our site in Annan, Scotland, today,” said Robert MacLeod. “Johnson Matthey has made significant investments into the site over the past two years and Annan will continue to play an important role in the Fine Chemicals Division’s long-term strategic development. We look forward to building lasting relationships with the local community as our business continues to expand and increase employment within the region.”
