PCM Pumps, of Corby in the UK, has introduced the Compact Series of pumps. Designed for low pressure transfer applications such as IBC and tote tank emptying and liquid transfer within a manufacturing plant, there are seven models in the range, each with a 4 bar discharge pressure.

The pumps feature fixed or variable speed drives and are said to be particularly suitable for handling highly viscous and abrasive products. They are also suitable for hygienic operations where CIP is a requirement.

A simple coupling device connects the drive to the rotor, offering easy maintenance and cost efficient performance, PCM says. Furthermore, the stator floats in the housing rather than being fixed, which allows better toleration to dry running.
