CSS makes new connections
CSS, of Northavon in Northern Ireland, has added two new links to its "connections" strategy of bringing together strongly differentiated capabilities to offer a unique and powerful combination of services.
CSS, of Northavon in Northern Ireland, has added two new links to its "connections" strategy of bringing together strongly differentiated capabilities to offer a unique and powerful combination of services.
The first of these was its new Carbon-14 radiolabelling services, manufacturing of which began in January following completion of an initial investment programme in late 2005. This allows for the labelling of peptides, oligonucleotides and cytotoxics, and can be used in the development of compounds at any stage between drug discovery and launch. The service has been designed to be synergistic with CSS" long established offerings in the synthesis of metabolites and APIs.
CSS also unveiled a new package of four key chiral building blocks: (R)-propylene carbonate; (R)-styrene oxide; (R)-3-quinuclidinol; and (S)-3-quinuclidinol. Available in gram to tonne quantities, the range comes from the company's work on biocatalysis, both internally (quinuclidinols) and in collaboration with IEP (propylene carbonate and styrene oxide).
