The standard method for most coating processes is to spray the product with a coating such as flavouring oils or a dry powder in a rotating drum. Spice Application Systems' newly patented system goes one step further than traditional electrostatic spray heads by eradicating the need for a rotating drum.

The company won a SMART award from the UK government to develop the new system because of its potential environmental benefits in reducing energy consumption and minimising waste. The new system meets IP65 and is CIP compatible. The electrostatic components comply with all global safety requirements, including European ATEX legislation.

Peter King, managing director of Spice Application Systems, will be available on the stand to discuss the new system and the benefits that it will deliver to manufacturing lines.
